As of 10:30am Friday morning, I am completely done with my undergraduate degree! It hasn't fully set in yet, but I'm still excited! I can spend the entire weekend doing whatever I want... without having to worry about any school work :D. So... what have I done with my first complete day of freedom? I cleaned and did laundry, lol. I cleaned out my car, washed the kitchen, bathroom, cleaned and dusted my bed room... Strange as it sounds, I've actually been looking forward to cleaning this weekend. I haven't had time to thoroughly clean anything in weeks. Less than an hour after cleaning my bedroom, I accidentally flung BBQ sauce all over my desk and bedroom carpet :(. For a minute there I felt like my ex-roommate who lost most of our deposit by destroying her bedroom carpet with beer, pop, juice, gum, and dirty shoes. She's also tried to decorate the entire main floor of the apartment with ground beef. Erm, gross. Anyway... Matt and I are going to Tiara's for a hot tub party later tonight to celebrate finishing classes :)
In other news... I ended up spending a few hours in the emergency room on Wednesday because of severe lower abdominal pain. It pretty much came out of nowhere. I couldn't stand up straight, I threw up, and had stabbing pains in other areas as well. The nurses thought it was either my appendix, an ovarian cyst, or a kidney stone. I had a CAT scan after a nurse killed my vein with an IV. I wouldn't look while she was putting the IV, but apparently I was bleeding all over and I ended up turning green :-P. The abdominal pain stopped as suddenly as it started. The CAT scan came back normal, so the appendix was ruled out... they're thinking it might've been a cyst, but there wasn't any fluid. I'm pretty sure they ended up thinking it was most likely a kidney stone that I passed before the CAT scan. Either way, it was very unpleasant. I have a massive, multicolored bruise on my arm from the IV, and the right side of my abs seems a bit sore every once in awhile, but things have pretty much calmed down. I scheduled a follow up doctor appointment for Monday. Hopefully they'll be able to tell me that everything is normal. Thanks to Noelle for taking care of me :)
The past few weeks have been quite eventful. I have more to write regarding my job search, but this post is getting long so I'll wait.
Tonight, starting at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time (that's 1:00 A.M. UTC/GMT), we'll be taking Vox offline for a bit in order to move the service to a brand new home in some bright, shiny new server racks. We don't expect to be offline for more than an hour or two, but we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to invest in Vox's infrastructure!
Update: we've postponed tonight's maintenance, and will let you know when we reschedule. Thanks for your patience!
Last week, we announced the winners of the HP "What Do You Have to Say? Theme Design Contest and promised you we'd make the winning themes available on Vox in the coming weeks. After a little more thought, we decided you shouldn't have to wait a second longer to use these creative and inspiring designs on your blogs, so we made them available for you today. Who says good things only come to those who wait?
oh senioritis... thank you for not delivering your most debilitating blow until the last week of classes. I want to watch a movie, or go for a walk or a bike ride, or go out to dinner, be with boyfriend, walk around the mall, sit and stare at a wall... anything but write this History paper on the Industrial Revolution. So dull. ugh.
Straight to Video
Now you can share your Flickr videos on your Vox blog!
A few weeks ago, Flickr announced that pro members are now able to share videos of up to 90 seconds in their photostream. Many of you already post photos to your Vox blog directly from your Flickr account, and now we’ve made it so you can do the same with your Flickr videos.
To post a Flickr video to your Vox blog, just follow the same steps you would if you were posting a Flickr photo. (Yes, that means you’ll find your Flickr videos in “Photos,” not “Videos.”)
Not using Flickr to add photos to Vox? Find out how to connect your Flickr account to your Vox account. Plus, using Flickr means you’ll never have to upload a photo twice, or waste valuable storage space!
Around the World with Vox and CupCate
A little over a year ago, we announced that CupCate was one of the Grand Prize winners of the Vox World Tour. A month ago, Cate and her husband, Iain, packed their bags and flew to San Francisco, the first stop of a three-cities-in-fourteen-days vacation.
While they were in SF, Team Vox was lucky enough to have a yummy lunch with Cate and Iain and some of us even made it out for a late night karaoke session at The Mint.
We were also happy to hear, however, that she took some time to enjoy a glass of wine, a roaring fire, and the luxury of utter relaxation.
Then it was off to Tokyo where she saw gorgeous cherry blossoms, the Tokyo Tower and the Sensoji Temple, and even got a special tour around Tokyo with Ayako from Six Apart’s Japan office!
And it wouldn't be a Vox World Tour without Paris in the spring time, decadent French meals, and, of course, the Eiffel Tower.
It sounds like an amazing adventure. Congratulations again to CupCate. We had so much fun with you while you were in SF and we can't wait until your next visit!

I feel like dancing :) Contributing factors include: caffeine, gorgeous weather, and the fact that I'm almost finished with college!!!!
That was ten minutes ago... when I was outside. Now I'm sitting in the library searching for motivation to write my second to last paper of my undergraduate career. And I'm boredboredboredbored. Who cares about the Industrial Revolution anyway? :-\. Maybe I'd have more luck working on this outside :-P.
Only four more days of class and sixteen days until official graduation!!
It was hard to choose from the 355 entries, but the judges have announced the winners of our month-long "What Do You Have to Say?" theme design contest, sponsored by HP. And the winners are....
And while we know it's not polite to brag, you'll forgive us for a moment while we gush about the fact that the 2nd and 3rd prize winners are both Voxers!
The Second Place theme, “Live and Learn” was submitted by Li Kim Goh, or as you may know her: gollykim. We thought it was pretty cool to hear that Li, “didn't really think about winning, but mainly [entered] just for fun [while also] creating a few new banners for [her] own Vox blog.
When asked why blog design was so important to her, Li answered, ““because it draws readers' attention and makes your blog stand out from the millions of other blogs.” With such a great design, we think Li did just that.
The Third Place winner, Terri, showed off her “funky-fresh style” with her theme, “Vector Drips.” Terri said that having her theme picked made her day. You know what Terri? It made our day too!
The best part of the contest? In the coming weeks, we’ll make all the winning themes available on Vox, TypePad and LiveJournal so that you can use them on your blog!
Thank you to everyone who entered the contest and CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!
I had a great birthday weekend :) It started out going to the Happy Greek for Matt and my three month anniversary. After dinner, we walked around the park for a bit during the end of what we found to be an Earth Day festival. Next came a birthday celebration with a few friends at Dave and Busters.
My Dad came to visit on Saturday, and we went to Cap City with my aunt, uncle, second cousin, and Matt. The food was delicious, and I had the biggest, most decedent piece of chocolate cake... ever. I couldn't even eat 1/4 of a piece, and I'm the girl who eats entire pints (or so, haha) of ice cream in one sitting. mmmm, ice creaam :D
Here are some oh-so exciting pictures of from Dave and Busters :)
I got about $120 for my birthday so far :)
And...
Blueberry decided to boycott her litter box yesterday. She pottied twice outside of the litter box and hasn't gone at all since. Luckily both times were easy to clean up and, surprisingly, it didn't smell... After talking to Noelle and calling the vet, I discovered that she may have a UTI or some other type of infection. I spent about $32 on a temporary litter box, litter, a kitty bed, and moist cat food yesterday so I could keep her in the bathroom while I'm asleep or not home so she can't use the carpeted floor as a litter box. I took kitty to the vet this afternoon. They're going to do a urine test, but Blueberry has to go to the bathroom first. Apparently there wasn't anything in her bladder, so I was sent home with a "collection kit". Hopefully she'll go by tomorrow evening, or something really serious could be wrong, she'll have to stay overnight at the vet and possibly get blood work. :(
So... Vet bill, after $30 first time customer coupon, was $70. $70 + 32 = $102... so far. There went my birthday money :-P. Oh well... at least I had some money. If it weren't for birthday money and the $100 sent by my sister for graduation, I'd be at -$104 after this month's bills :-\. Can't wait to graduate and find a career job!!! :-P
I'm thinking of taking a picture of myself every day for a year to see if/how I change throughout the year. I can't decide if I want to do all head shots, or full body, or a combination. If I did the same pose in all of them, I could set up some kind of animated image to string them together and see my self morph from April 27th 2008 me to April 27, 2009 me. Sounds like a fun project. I also think it's a great time to start since it's my birthday. Inspired by this (and no, I don't expect my head to become square :-p...). Yeah... I get bored a lot.
It's almost 9pm and I have a paper several papers to be writing. I'm sitting here playing with my camera and thinking about how I should start making ice cubes instead, lol.
And playing with maps.live.com. <3 the house I grew up in :)
